Soraya Sesto
Soraya completed her Bachelor’s degree MAGNA CUM LAUDE from Georgetown University in Washington, D.C. Soraya also holds a master’s degree in communications and public relations from the University of the Sacred Heart, San Juan, Puerto Rico, and is a PhD Candidate at the Center for Advanced for Puerto Rico and the Caribbean.
For the past 25 years, Soraya has been dedicated to motivating youth to commit to their schooling and to find value in their education. This goal has been achieved through her ingenious educational programs such as Operación Éxito, La Magna, La Máxima, Tratamiento Intensivo, La Nueva Escuela Virtual and Uno a Uno.
In 2009, Soraya founded the OE (Operation Success) Foundation. This organization is responsible for offering educational programs, scholarships, and opportunities to thousands of young people around the world. The testimonies of these young people prove this:
Mª Ángeles Pla (Spain)
“The OE Foundation completely changed my life. Adrenaline, learning, and improvement. It was an absolutely enriching experience and thanks to it I was able to study music and languages. If OE has taught me anything, it is that I can achieve whatever I set my mind to with effort and conviction.”
Luis F. Torres (Puerto Rico)
“Participating in Operación Éxito gave me a level of discipline and dedication that shaped the person I am today. The tools I acquired have been key in my bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering at the University of Puerto Rico. The challenge of OE has made my life an adventure full of great unimaginable experiences.”
In 2015, Soraya was awarded the Maestro Cordero Award by the Puerto Rico Community Foundation as an “Innovator in Transformative Education.”
Soraya received the City Livability Award from the United States Conference of Mayors where former President Bill Clinton was present. This award recognizes programs that have the greatest impact on the quality of life in a community nationwide.
American Cyber Academy is the latest creation of Soraya Sesto. American Cyber Academy exists to provide opportunities for digital native students to develop their full potential through virtual education.
When Soraya is not developing and implementing educational programs, she is flying. She is an airplane and helicopter pilot and lives with her husband, Puerto Rican filmmaker Noel Quiñones, between Puerto Rico and New York.
“Our mission is to provide opportunities. That is the goal of American Cyber Academy: to help students develop to the fullest.” Soraya Sesto
